The Farm Shop
The Butchery
Our farm supplies Paul, the butcher, with our home-bred organic Angus-sired beef, and Marcus Sadler, our neighbour, provides his grass-fed Dexters and Angus. The meat hangs in our cold-room for at least 21 days to ensure its succulence and depth of flavour.
Our Welsh Mule flock produces our organic lamb.
Some of the meadows the cattle and sheep graze are beside the Stiffkey, a chalk stream that flows the length of the farm and rises on the Estate. The rest of their pasture is by Swanton Novers National Nature Reserve, the second largest ancient woodland in Norfolk. And when not there, they are on the clover leys we rotate around the farm, improving the soil, and encouraging the growth of the plants.
Our Delicatessen
Much of the delicatessen food comes from our own kitchens. We have salads, fish, meat, a choice of dishes for our takeaway lunch boxes, soup, massively popular sausage rolls and scotch eggs. We have great artisan cheeses. And there are brownies, meringues, and tarts.
Groceries
We offer the biggest range of organic fruit and vegetables for miles around. We are proud to stock produce from Thornage Hall, which provides supported living for adults with learning disabilities. The tenants grow organic vegetables biodynamically, and their produce is among the first to sell out when it arrives fresh from their fields, minutes away. There is a vast selection of groceries, many unusual items, olive oil from top producers, wonderful local products, and a wide choice of organic and gluten-free goods.
Wine, Spirits & Beers
The wine department has an extensive selection from France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, with all major regions covered. We have an extensive range of Spirits and Beers, much of it local.
Homeware
We promote local makers, showcasing artisan homeware. We feature ceramics, textiles and leather goods, handmade knives fashioned from recycled steel, and woodware.
